re/connecting… is an original play that seeks to reflect the new norms that enveloped Singapore during its Circuit Breaker, and tells the stories of those who struggle to remain connected with the environment, others and even themselves during this period of distancing.

When local schools were required to transit into Home-Based Learning, Mr. Tan, a Mother Tongue department teacher, had to relearn how to carry on with his work using various digital platforms. Physical interactions, contact and presence have previously played a defining role in how he connects with his work. Now, Mr. Tan has to pick up new digital skills, care for his students, support his colleagues – and he manages all this while still trying to fulfill his private roles as a father, a husband and the head of his household. How will Mr. Tan cope with all these at once, and still try to remain connected with the people and his surroundings?
